'A Coup Has Occurred'

If there's another 9/11 under this regime ... it means that they switch on full extent all the apparatus of a police state that has been patiently constructed, largely secretly at first but eventually leaked out and known and accepted by the Democratic people in Congress, by the Republicans and so forth.

Will there be anything left for NSA to increase its surveillance of us? ... They may be to the limit of their technical capability now, or they may not. But if they're not now they will be after another 9/11.

And I would say after the Iranian retaliation to an American attack on Iran, you will then see an increased attack on Iran – an escalation – which will be also accompanied by a total suppression of dissent in this country, including detention camps.

This possible future is more menacingly close than a lot of Americans are willing to believe: but we ignore it at both our personal peril, and that of the Republic.

In Case of Martial Law, Break Glass

Hard as it might be to believe, there is a very real possibility that Bush will exercise these rights before his term ends. All he needs is an excuse. At present, the economy is on the verge of collapse, the Iraqi Occupation is going badly no matter what Bush and his chosen generals say, energy supplies are unable to keep pace with demand, disapproval of the Bush administration is growing, and Bush wants to attack Iran and so complete his Middle East conquest. He has all the reason in the world to declare martial law. All he lacks is a sufficient excuse.

700,000 Name Terror Watch List Still Riddled With False Information

The nation's centralized terrorist watch list that is used to screen 270 million individuals every month now contains more than 700,000 entries, but remains marred by duplication, erroneous information, incorrect tracking codes and poor coordination between the watch list and the agencies that use the list, according to an audit released Thursday by the Justice Department's inspector general.

Only pro-war groups are allowed freedom of speech in police state Amerika as cops kidnap people who recite the very document they swore an oath to protect and uphold.

Peaceful onlookers were arrested by police for reading the Constitution while a pro-war group was allowed full freedom of speech in Washington DC recently in another flagrant example of how American cops are now the enforcers of a tyrannical police state.

Unflipping believable.

Pentagon's New Africa Command "Up And Running"

Late September, the Senate approved for AFRICOM's inaugural chief, Army Gen. William "Kip" Ward, and now the Pentagon confirms the command has reached "initial operating capacity."

"I see the establishment of AFRICOM as a wonderful opportunity to efficiently and effectively apply the elements of U.S. national power in ways that help the Africans develop and implement their solutions to African concerns," Ward said.

When it comes to national resources to exploit, Africa is the "new Middle East", and it's the resources this country wants.

"Nuke" Americans First

All Roads Lead to Dick Cheney

Most people know that Vice President Dick Cheney is former CEO of Halliburton, which makes billions of dollars a year from oil and primarily defense-related construction contracts (and that war and chaos increase Halliburton's profits, which in turn increase the value of Cheney's stock options). Most people also know that Cheney was secretary of Defense under George H. W. Bush.

Many people know that Cheney was a congressman from Wyoming. Some even know that he was one of the founders of the Project for a New American Century.

Well-read people know that the Project for a New American Century, in turn, called for a new American empire well before 9/11, and lamented that, without a "catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor", transformation of America into an empire would be very slow.

But even well-informed people probably don't know that -- in the 70's -- Cheney was instrumental in generating fake intelligence exaggerating the Soviet threat in order to undermine coexistence between the U.S. and Soviet Union, which conveniently justified huge amounts of cold war spending. See also this article. This scheme foreshadowed Mr. Cheney's role in generating fake intelligence about Iraq by 30 years.

And did you know that Cheney has been perhaps the leading advocate for strengthening the powers of the White House to the point of monarchy for at least 20 years?

Or that newly-released documents show that Cheney was involved in debates concerning illegal wiretaps 30 years ago?

Did you catch that the former director of the CIA accused Cheney of overseeing American torture policies ? Or that Colin Powell's former chief of staff stated that Dick Cheney is guilty of war crimes for his role in facilitating torture?

And, according to to the Pulitzer prize-winning reporter who uncovered the Iraq prison torture scandal and the massacre against Vietnamese civilians, Cheney is the main guy helping to fund groups which the U.S. claims are terrorists.

And guess who is the prime architect of efforts to bomb Iran? Yup, Mr. Cheney (see also this article).

To recap, Cheney's past includes:

• Oil

• Defense

• Faking intelligence and using scare tactics about enemies to justify a pre-planned military agenda

• Lobbying to give the president the powers of the king

• Calling for an American empire and lamenting the lack of a "new Pearl Harbor"

• Police state type wiretapping

• Selling war

• Promoting torture

• Funding Al-Qaeda

Did all of these aspects of Mr. Cheney's background converge in the Iraq debacle? Well, a top official at the State Department stated there was a secret "cabal" involving Cheney, and that Cheney and a handful of others had hijacked the country's foreign policy.

Did they converge on 9/11?

This last question is not merely academic: vice President Cheney was apparently in charge of ALL 5 of the war games which occurred on 9/11 and coordinated the government's "response" to the attacks. See this CNN article; and this essay.

And Cheney is the one who monitored flight 77 for many miles as it approached the Pentagon and -- when a military man asked "do the orders still stand?" -- Cheney responded affirmatively:

"The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out." And when it got down to, "The plane is 10 miles out," the young man also said to the vice president, "Do the orders still stand?" And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, "Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?"

Watch the video for yourself (and see this essay).

Mr. Cheney's motive concerning 9/11 was strong. As a well-known writer said:

"For his entire career, he sought untrammeled power. The Bush presidency and 9/11 finally gave it to him . . ."

Postscript: For the sake of brevity, I have left out numerous additional acts committed by Mr. Cheney. For example, you may have heard that the Energy Task Force chaired by Cheney prior to 9/11 collected maps of Iraqi oil fields and potential suitors for that oil. But did you know that a secret document written by the National Security Council on February 3, 2001 directed the N.S.C. staff to cooperate fully with the Energy Task Force as it considered the “melding” of two seemingly unrelated areas of policy: “the review of operational policies towards rogue states,” such as Iraq, and “actions regarding the capture of new and existing oil and gas fields”? In other words, it is difficult to brush off Cheney's Energy Task Force's examination of Iraqi oil maps as a harmless comparison of American energy policy with known oil reserves because the N.S.C. explicitly linked the Task Force, oil, and regime change. Indeed, a former senior director for Russian, Ukrainian, and Eurasian affairs at the N.S.C. said “if this little group was discussing geostrategic plans for oil, it puts the issue of war in the context of the captains of the oil industry sitting down with Cheney and laying grand, global plans” (see also this essay).

Of course, Cheney has not acted alone in his actions. But he's been an important player in many different arenas and is, perhaps, the most widely-known figure who has had a hand in all of the above-described events. Cheney might not be the ultimate Mr. Big in these crimes, but he appears to have gotten his hands dirtier -- and to be closer to the true seat of power -- even than Mr. Bush.

In addition, while Cheney was not solely responsible for the above-listed actions, he hired many of the people who caused the mischief, such as the chief architect of the Iraq war -
Paul Wolfowitz.

US could prosecute reporters for leaks: Gonzales

The federal government appears to have the authority to prosecute journalists or newspapers for publishing classified information, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said on Sunday.

"There are some statutes on the book which, if you read the language carefully, would seem to indicate that that is a possibility," Gonzales said told ABC's "This Week," when asked if the government could prosecute journalists for publishing classified information.

Anti-War Protest Group Fined $10,000

The anti-war activist group Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) faces a $10,000 fine from the city of Washington if it fails to remove thousands of fliers it has posted to advertise a September anti-war march.

"They have told us that we have 72 hours to remove every poster, or the fines will go into effect," the group said in a statement Tuesday. The ANSWER Coalition faces $10,000 in fines if it fails to remove posters advertising a September 15 anti-war march in Washington, DC. "Tens of thousands of dollars in additional fines are expected in the coming days."

Police break up anti-war meeting in Washington

Mounted police charged in to break up an outdoor press conference and demonstration against the Iraq war in Washington on Thursday, arresting three people, organizers and an AFP reporter said.

The charge caused a peaceful crowd of some 20 journalists and four or five protestors to scatter in terror, an AFP correspondent at the event in Lafayette Square said. No one appeared to have been hurt.

Now let me get his straight: the DC police thought it both necessary and appropriate to charge about 25 people, peaceably assembled....on horseback?????

Forgive me, but the words "excessive force" really leap readily to mind here.

The Empire Turns Its Guns on the Citizenry

In recent years American police forces have called out SWAT teams 40,000 or more times annually. Last year did you read in your newspaper or hear on TV news of 110 hostage or terrorist events each day? No. What then were the SWAT teams doing? They were serving routine warrants to people who posed no danger to the police or to the public.

New Pentagon detainee manual could lead to executions based on 'hearsay evidence'

"We have learned that the pentagon has just completed a manual for the coming detainee trials that would allow suspected terrorist to be imprisoned or executed using hearsay evidence or coerced testimony," said Nora O'Donnell, the chief Washington correspondent for NBC News' 24-hour cable news network.

This government doesn't want any of the remaining detainees to get out, because id doesn't want the world to know that they were sold for reward money, subsequently kidnapped and tortured for being at the absolutely wrong place at the wrong time.

Better to murder them than have the US embarrassed.

"Of course the people don't want war. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. 1 Man Still Locked Up From 9/11 Sweeps

In a jail cell at an immigration detention center in Arizona sits a man who is not charged with a crime, not suspected of a crime, not considered a danger to society.

But he has been in custody for five years.

His name is Ali Partovi. And according to the Department of Homeland Security, he is the last to be held of about 1,200 Arab and Muslim men swept up by authorities in the United States after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Meanwhile ...

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information." -- US official quoted in Carl Cameron's Fox News report on the Israeli spy ring and its connections to 9-11.

Soon You'll Have To Ask Permission Before You Fly

The TSA wants commercial airlines to submit passenger information through a single DHS portal for both the Secure Flight and APIS programs.

What this amounts to is essentially a reprise of the infamous "internal passport" system in effect in the former Soviet Union. In 1933, Soviet dictator Josef Stalin introduced "internal passports" that prohibited Soviet citizens from leaving their place of residence without permission.

Florida: City to Seize Homes Over a $5 Parking Ticket

Brooksville, Florida proposes to foreclose homes and seize cars over less than $20 in parking tickets.

Any motorist who believes a parking ticket may have been improperly issued must first pay a $250 "appeal fee" within seven days to have the case heard by a contract employee of the city. This employee will determine whether the city should keep the appeal fee, plus the cost of the ticket and late fees, or find the motorist not guilty. Council members postponed a decision on whether to reduce this appeal fee until final adoption of the measure which is expected in the first week of April.

The last official act of any corrupt government is to loot the public.

It will be interesting to see who winds up with those forclosed houses and seized vehicles if this goes forward.

Reporter Arrested on Orders of Giuliani Press Secretary

Freelance reporter Matt Lepacek, reporting for Infowars.com, was arrested for asking a question to one of Giuliani's staff members in a press conference. The press secretary identified the New York based reporter as having previously asked Giuliani about his prior knowledge of WTC building collapses and ordered New Hampshire state police to arrest him.

I didn't realize Press Secretaries had arrest powers!

On a more serious note, how a candidate handles his campaign is usually a strong indicator of how they will handle their office if they win. If Giuliani believes in arresting reporters to evade embarrassing questions now, he will continue to do so if he becomes President.

From Local Police to Occupying Army, or LESO: The Greater of Many Evils

They're armored personnel carriers supplied to “local” police agencies for little or no cost through the Pentagon's Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO), established in 1995 as part of the Defense Logistics Agency.

Since that time, the LESO has made huge amounts of military hardware – from boots to helmets to ammo to helicopters and the “Peacekeeper” APCs – available to local and state police agencies, often at little or no cost.

In short, the government is arming itself against the people, in preparation for violent repressions of those uppity taxpayers who think Congress ought to pay more attention to Americans than to some foreign government's agenda.

Botched Paramilitary Police Raids

An Epidemic of "Isolated Incidents"

"If a widespread pattern of [knock-and-announce] violations were shown . . . there would be reason for grave concern."

—Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, in Hudson v. Michigan, June 15, 2006.

An interactive map of botched SWAT and paramilitary police raids, released in conjunction with the Cato policy paper "Overkill: The Rise of Paramilitary Police Raids," by Radley Balko.

What does this map mean?

The proliferation of SWAT teams, police militarization, and the Drug War have given rise to a dramatic increase in the number of "no-knock" or "quick-knock" raids on suspected drug offenders. Because these raids are often conducted based on tips from notoriously unreliable confidential informants, police sometimes conduct SWAT-style raids on the wrong home, or on the homes of nonviolent, misdemeanor drug users. Such highly-volatile, overly confrontational tactics are bad enough when no one is hurt -- it's difficult to imagine the terror an innocent suspect or family faces when a SWAT team mistakenly breaks down their door in the middle of the night.

BUSH RESTRICTING TRAVEL RIGHTS OF OVER 100,000 U.S. CITIZENS

The freedom to travel of more than 100,000 Americans placed on “watch” and “no fly” lists is being restricted by the Bush-Cheney regime.

“Making it more difficult for people out of favor with the state to travel back and forth across borders is a classic part of the fascist playbook,” Wolf says. She noticed starting in 2002 that “almost every time I sought to board a domestic airline flight, I was called aside by the Transportation Security Administration(TSA) and given a more thorough search.”

During one preboarding search, a TSA agent told her “You’re on the list” and Wolf learned it is not a list of suspected terrorists but of journalists, academics, activists, and politicians “who have criticized the White House.”

We have come to the end of the era of the Constitution and Bill of Rights in this country.

What is supplanting these guarantees should be frightening to anyone with the intellectual honesty to realize what has happened.

Federal Appeals Court: Driving With Money is a Crime

A federal appeals court ruled yesterday that if a motorist is carrying large sums of money, it is automatically subject to confiscation. In the case entitled, "United States of America v. $124,700 in U.S. Currency," the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit took that amount of cash away from Emiliano Gomez Gonzolez, a man with a "lack of significant criminal history" neither accused nor convicted of any crime.

This is becoming a common story. A few years back I had a friend who owned a garden supply store, and he was on his way to a grower's trade show with cash to purchase new stock when the police confiscated the cash. Since objects do not enjoy the presumption of innocence, the only way to get his money back was to go to court to prove he had not come by it via criminal actions. Without the new stock and without the cash to purchase any, he went out of business waiting for a court date. Meanwhile, the police used his cash to purchase whatever they wanted.

Another shocking example of police brutality has been caught on camera showing a cop nearly breaking a girl's arm, punching her and then pepper spraying her in the face as she cries after being arrested for violating a city curfew.

No bond for accused teen

A 16 year-old girl will be held in jail WITHOUT BOND, for handing out politically incorrect fliers.

The issue isn't whether or not you agree with the content of the fliers (for the record, I do NOT) but the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and ideas, which is under attack via the so-called "hate crime" laws.

It is easy to support freedom of speech when the speaker says something you agree with. But the true test of your commitment to principles is when the speaker says something you absolutely do not like. Then and only then do we see who are real Americans, and who support tyranny.

Right or wrong, this young girl should have the freedom to voice her opinion. Under that same principle, those who do not agree with her have the same right to voice their contradiction. Out of that debate arrives consensus.

But when certain topics are declared illegal to speak about or think about, we are on the road to the thought police, because it won't be just about the gays next time.

US university students will not be able to work late at the campus, travel abroad, show interest in their colleagues' work, have friends outside the United States, engage in independent research, or make extra money without the prior consent of the authorities, according to a set of guidelines given to administrators by the FBI.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to monitor their colleagues for signs of suspicious behaviour and report any concerns to the FBI or the military.

US free speech row grows as author says Jewish complaints stopped launch party

A party in honour of Bad Faith, Callil's account of Louis Darquier, the Vichy official who arranged the deportation of thousands of Jews, was to have taken place at the French embassy in New York last night but was cancelled after the embassy became aware of a paragraph in the postscript of the book. In the postscript Callil says she grew anxious while researching the "helpless terror of the Jews of France" to see "what the Jews of Israel were passing on to the Palestinian people. Like the rest of humanity, the Jews of Israel 'forget' the Palestinians. Everyone forgets."

Apparently, the author was unaware that anything remotely critical of Israel cannot even be whispered in the United States, particularly if it is a comparison which may be uncomfortably true.

The First Amendment to the Constitution has been superceeded by 'agreement' on what can and cannot be said about Israel in this country.

“Some soldiers believe this is a form of punishment for the trouble soldiers caused by talking to the media,” one Medical Hold Unit soldier said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Police are using armored vehicles - Yahoo! News

After six people were shot in the city's Homewood neighborhood in less than 24 hours, Pittsburgh police rolled in with a 20-ton armored truck with a blast-resistant body, armored rotating roof hatch and gunports.

No guns or drugs were seized and no arrests made during the sweep in the $250,000 armored vehicle, paid for with Homeland Security money. But the show of force sent a message.<>Whether it was the right message is a matter of debate.

So much for "to protect and serve", emblazoned on the doors of many police vehicles around the country.

Very rarely, regardless of the propaganda coming from the cop shows on TV to the contrary, can police prevent crime: they can only come and clean up the mess after the mess has happened.

And there's one other aspect to these purchases: armored vehicles are just dandy for enforcing martial law.

Concerns Raised on Wider Spying Under New Law

The government can now enter your home or business without a warrant and go through your records at will, so long as they claim that the search is link to a target in another country.

Back when Nixon had his boys entering places of business and going through records without a warrant it was illegal, and he had to resign because of it.

Now it is the law.

New Spy Law Broader Than Thought

Before the Democratic-controlled Congress caved in on George W. Bush’s warrantless-wiretapping powers, White House lawyers slipped in two provisions to give the President even more authority – and less accountability – than he claimed on his own. And the U.S. press corps largely missed that part of the story.

Bush seeks immunity for companies in spy case

The Bush administration wants the power to grant legal immunity to telecommunications companies that are slapped with privacy suits for cooperating with the White House’s controversial warrantless eavesdropping program.

Bush Administration Says Warrantless Eavesdropping Cannot Be Questioned

The Bush administration said Monday the constitutionality of its warrantless electronic eavesdropping program cannot be challenged.

The government is taking that position in seeking the dismissal of federal court lawsuits against the government and AT&T over its alleged involvement in the once-secret surveillance program adopted after the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The strategy was first recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court in a McCarthy-era lawsuit. It has been increasingly invoked in a bid to shield the government from legal scrutiny.

AT&T Whistle-Blower's Evidence

So where is the secret room? Well, it just so happens to be room number 641 A at 611 Folsom Street in San Francisco, California. And just what is in this room? Well, a lot of stuff, but mainly a NARUS STA 6400 machine which is spying on the internet.

NARUS, which makes the internet spy system, is owned and operated by an Israeli, Ori Cohen. In this, NARUS is like AMDOCS and Comverse Infosys, Israel-linked companies that track US phone calls for billing and install eavesdropping equipment on US telephones respectively. Both AMDOCS and Comverse were involved with the Israeli spy ring which was being rounded up when 9-11 occurred as reported by FOX News' Carl Cameron. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/spyring.html

Domestic surveillance activities now subject to FISC supervision: Gonzales

While maintaining the legality of the NSA domestic surveillance program [JURIST report], Gonzales said the President will not reauthorize the program when its current authorization expires, and will instead submit all surveillance requests through the FISC.

The FISC has rarely if ever refused such a request. It is a rubber-stamp court operating outside Constitutional limits, used to legitimize illegitimate activity by the government.

More Spying Revealed: American Government is Out of Control!

It is clear that the NSA's domestic spying program, a program that should not legally exist, is far larger than originally anticipated. USA Today reported that, in order to develop this program, the government agency used private phone records provided by three major companies, AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc., and Bellsouth Corp.

Software Being Developed to Monitor Opinions of U.S.

A consortium of major universities, using Homeland Security Department money, is developing software that would let the government monitor negative opinions of the United States or its leaders in newspapers and other publications overseas.

Researchers at institutions including Cornell, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Utah intend to test the system on hundreds of articles published in 2001 and 2002 on topics like President Bush’s use of the term “axis of evil,” the handling of detainees at Guantánamo Bay, the debate over global warming and the coup attempt against President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela.

It could take several years for such a monitoring system to be in place, said Joe Kielman, coordinator of the research effort. The monitoring would not extend to United States news, Mr. Kielman said.

And how does the government define 'negative opinions'?

Perhaps, most clearly, as telling the honest truth about a situation? Please remember: in the voluminous regulations of the FCC, there is no regulation that requires any 'news outlet' to report the truth.

And despite Joe Kielman's assurances, you can bet that this monitoring system will be in place in the US (particularly for on-line resources) in a very hot hurry.

Specter 'compromise' gives Bush amnesty for wiretaps

Sen. Arlen Specter's approach modifies his earlier position that the NSA eavesdropping program, which targets international telephone calls and e-mails in which one party is suspected of links to terrorists, must be subject to supervision by the secret court set up under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

Another part of the Specter bill would grant blanket amnesty to anyone who authorized warrantless surveillance under presidential authority, a provision that seems to ensure that no one would be held criminally liable if the current program is found illegal under present law.

No oversight, no rules - how wonderful. With this proposal, very much like the old 'Code Napoleon' in Europe, every citizen is now guilty until proven innocent, and no one, in the executive branch of government, can be held accountable for their actions. Did I fall asleep and wake up in the wrong country this morning?

Feds test new data mining program

Called ADVISE — for Analysis, Dissemination, Visualization, Insight and Semantic Enhancement — the program is capable of linking and cross-matching material from websites and blogs to government records and personal data.

Privacy activists are correct to be concerned that this is a major invasion into personal lives. and there is always the potential that the US GOvernment will want to use this system not to stop terrorists but simply to scare ordinary citizens into staying silent about what is going on.

But on a purely technical level, and looking at how inaccurate most existing government databases are, I suspect that the sheer flood of false-positives coming out of this system will render it totally unreliable and in the end it will be yet another fabulously expensive government boondoggle.

HAS MARTIAL LAW ARRIVED?

So, let’s get this straight. 1) In 1933, America WAS declared into a state of emergency, which has never been rescinded. We ARE PRESENTLY in a declared state of emergency (and have been for nearly 75 years), 2) multiple paramilitary systems have been raised, readied, operating, and practicing – beginning in 1974, and 3) the president of the united States need only sign a piece of paper to END the constitutional government of the united States.

Secret FEMA Plan To Use Pastors as Pacifiers in Preparation For Martial Law

Army moves forward with court martial of Lt. Ehren Watada

Political charges of “contempt towards the president” dropped, four years prison still possible for political speech critical of Iraq War.

Sooooo, lemme get this straight. Lt. Watada is to be tried for being critical of the war in Iraq, an opinion shared by the majority of the voters and the new Congress?

MILITARY DECLARES SOLDERS ARE NOT US CITIZENS

A US military judge ruled Tuesday that 1st Lt. Ehren Watada [advocacy website; JURIST news archive], a US Army officer who refused deployment to Iraq [JURIST report] because he felt the war is 'unlawful,' cannot argue that point in his upcoming court-martial. Lt. Col. John Head further ruled that Watada may not raise a free speech defense, as soldiers do not enjoy the same constitutional rights as civilians.

In other words, when you join the military to defend the Constitution, you are no longer to benefit from its provisions and protections. For all intents and purposes you lose your citizenship.

Of course, I understand why the military judge is taking this position, and for the same reason judges will never honestly rule on the tax codes (with the sole exception of judge James C Fox); to rule honestly according to the law means the end of the good times. No more war, no more war money.

Well, all you readers wearing the uniform, sorry to say but apparently you are not Americans any more. The Bill of Rights does not apply to you. So go out there and get killed to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Federal ID plan raises privacy concerns

Americans may need passports to board domestic flights or to picnic in a national park next year if they live in one of the states defying the federal Real ID Act.

The cards would be mandatory for all "federal purposes," which include boarding an airplane or walking into a federal building, nuclear facility or national park, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told the National Conference of State Legislatures last week. Citizens in states that don't comply with the new rules will have to use passports for federal purposes.

And what happens to the state citizens - and their families -who just don't happen to have passports, or perhaps cannot afford them?

Are they just supposed to vanish into the dust?

Apparently so.

Britons to be scanned for FBI database

Millions of Britons who visit the United States are to have their fingerprints stored on the FBI database alongside those of criminals, in a move that has outraged civil rights groups.

Bush and CIA Director-Designate Hayden Rewrite the 4th Amendment

Text of a Letter from the President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate - March 18, 2003

This is the reason impeachment is mandatory. Bush lied to the Congress with this letter. In it, hs started the war in Iraq because "diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq."

We now know Iraq was not a threat. and we know Iraq was in compliance with UN resolutions regarding weapons of mass destruction.

Bush then goes on to justofy the attack by saying, "acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001."

We no know that Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.

One has to wonder what kind of deal has been made whereby the new Congress thinks it is permissible for the President to lie to the Congress. Because if you let one President lie and get away with it, you have handed a license to lie to Congress to every future President.

Adam Kokesh, Tina Richards Arrested for Defying Poster Ban

On September 6, 2007, Adam Kokesh (IVAW) and Tina Richards (Grassroots America) were arrested in Washington, D.C. for defying a federal government ban on posting promotional material for the September 15th Antiwar Rally, to be held in this city. The rally is sponsored by the ANSWER coalition. The arrests took place at the corner of H. St. and Jackson Place NW, near Lafayette Park, just north of the White House. Mr. Kokesh is the co-chair elect of the Iraq Veterans Against the War. Marine Mom Richards is the CEO of Grassroots America. The activists placed promotional posters on a traffic box, which supposedly falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Interior and the National Parks Service. Recently, the District of Columbia government imposed draconian fines on the ANSWER coalition for placing political literature around town. As a result, the ANSWER coalition has filed a lawsuit in Federal Court challenging the Constitutionality of the local government's action.
