Egyptian General - 9/11 Was An Inside Job

SEC: Government Destroyed Documents Regarding Pre-9/11 Put Options

The SEC responded:
This letter is in response to your request seeking access to and copies of the documentary evidence referred to in footnote 130 of Chapter 5 of the September 11 (9/11) Commission Report.
***
We have been advised that the potentially responsive records have been destroyed.
If the SEC had responded by producing documents showing that the pre-9/11 put options had an innocent explanation (such as a hedge made by a smaller airline), that would be understandable.
If the SEC had responded by saying that the documents were classified as somehow protecting proprietary financial information, I wouldn't like it, but I would at least understand the argument.
But destroyed? Why?

When War Criminals are Rewarded for Killing People: Tony Blair Awarded the "Liberty Medal"

When war becomes peace.
When killing is presented as a humanitarian endeavor.
When war criminals are rewarded for killing people.
When killing is justified in the name of democracy. When killing people is equated with to "bringing liberty" to those you have killed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This prize has become just about as debased as has the alleged Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama endorses Netanyahu as “man of peace”

President Barack Obama on Tuesday praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a man who “wants peace” and is “willing to take risks for peace.”
He did so following a White House meeting five weeks after the May 31 raid on the Mavi Marmara Gaza aid convoy, in which Israeli forces murdered eight Turkish activists and a dual Turkish-US national. The White House meeting was also on the eve of another round of Israeli settlement expansion on the
West Bank.

Netanyahu: Israel a Stabilizing Force in Middle East

Contrary to what some believe, Israel is actually the greatest source of stability in today's Middle East, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said this week while speaking at the Council of Foreign Relations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every time I have come to the conclusion that Netanyahu cannot possibly get more Orwellian with his use of language, he surprises me yet again!

Neocons, Likud Conquer DC, Again

The clout of Washington’s neoconservatives and the political fear induced by Israel’s Likud hardliners were on display again with recently released e-mails in which Gen. David Petraeus grovels before a key neocon and in White House meetings at which President Obama pandered to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu Wins Again

Webmaster's Commentary:

So what did Obama get from meeting Netanyahu..? nothing...
But Netanyahu got a lot from Obama..
He was assured of keeping his WMDS, and was assured of getting latest
US tech to continue in this field.
Was assured of more money.
Was assured of protection in the UN.
Never was asked but was supported regarding the flotilla..in fact all criticism Obama directed to
Turkey.
Was assured of more pressure on
Iran.
No mention of
Gaza.
No mention of withdrawing from Palestinians land..and more money leaving US to build more settlements.
Obama got photo opportunity to help Democrats in coming November election.
He hopes!!

Toronto Police Chief Lies Again To Frame Protesters

Blair was knowingly lying to the media and the public. The toys were seized from Barrett after he was pushed down by cops and forced at gunpoint to consent to a search on his way to attending a role-playing game called Amtgard. The items had all been amended so as to make them safe for children, yet Blair later told the media they represented a deadly cache of weapons set to be used by G20 protesters.
“I woke up yesterday morning and I had players as far as Texas leaving me messages on my voicemail saying, ‘Dude, all of your stuff is on TV, they’re saying it’s all terrorist weapons,’” Barrett said.

G20 Toronto Riots perpetrated by Agents Provocateurs of the Police

Two weeks after the G20 protests in Toronto it is becoming more and more apparent that what many of us suspected is indeed true: the June 26 ‘violence’ (i.e. property damage and police-car fires) was most likely perpetrated by agents provocateurs of the police.

Evidence - Obama Stole Election Against Hillary Voter Intimidation And Fraud

Webmaster's Commentary:

I want to be clear. Obama is the worst President is US history. Obama makes Dubya actually look good by comparison! Obama is making Sarah Palin look good by comparison. In my view, Obama is a traitor to the people of the United States of America for his defense of Israel's attack on Americans in international waters. And it would not surprise me at all to learn that Obama engaged in vote fraud because vote fraud is epidemic in the US.

But...
I am wondering why the fraud that took place in 2008 is suddenly a news item right now and so soon after a 2006 sexual harassment case has insured Al Gore's continued retirement from public life for the near term.
Someone is clearing away the Democratic competition ahead of the 2012 elections, and given the Democratic "pedigree" of this film maker, we should not assume our mastermind is a Republican.
We need to be aware of any Democrat or Independent with White House ambitions, a past record of ruthlessness, and making overt obeisance to
Israel as the price of electability!
UPDATE: It occurs to me that there is one more reason for this story to appear now, and that is to use the threat of a vote fraud scandal put pressure on Obama to attack
Iran.

Al-Shabaab vows allegiance to Osama

Somalia's al-Shabaab group has publicly announced its loyalty to al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, in a video documentary released recently.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Somalia's al-Shabaab group appears to be another fake terrorist organization that exists only on video tapes shown on "Islamist" websites (As usual, registered through Domains By Proxy to conceal the real owners from the public) to justify more wars of aggression.

There are two problems with this video. The first is the obvious use of english titles (not sub-titles; designed right into the video) when the official story is that this video "Al-Shabaab fighters distributed the video in several Mogadishu neighborhoods, including in Suqaholaha, where a public screening was also organized following the Eid prayers", audiences where English would be a rarity. Second, of course, Osama has been dead since December 2001, a fact known quite well to all nations outside the US propaganda blanket.
So, we are being told that the
Uganda bombing was carried out by TV Islamists swearing allegiance to a dead guy.
And they wonder why nobody believes this crap any more.

Defense Secretary Gates tightens rules for media relations

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has tightened rules on media relations for the US military, only days after the top general in Afghanistan was sacked over disparaging comments he and aides made in an interview.
Titled "Interaction with the media," the memo instructs Pentagon officials to notify the Defense Department's assistant secretary for public affairs "prior to interviews or any other means of media and public engagement with possible national or international implications."

TSA to Block "Controversial Opinion" on the Web

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is blocking certain websites from the federal agency's computers, including halting access by staffers to any Internet pages that contain a "controversial opinion," according to an internal email obtained by CBS News.
The email was sent to all TSA employees from the Office of Information Technology on Friday afternoon.
It states that as of July 1, TSA employees will no longer be allowed to access five categories of websites that have been deemed "inappropriate for government access."
The categories include:

Lieberman’s Internet ‘Kill Switch’ Bill Hits Roadblock

It appears that the effort to pass a cyber-security bill is going to get a bit more tough then expected.
Late last month, officials from Cisco, IBM and Oracle sent a letter to the main sponsors of the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act, S. 3480 — Senators Joe Lieberman (DI-Conn.) Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Tom Carper (D-Del.). The letter raised concerns about some provisions of the bill

Eco tax slips in under radar

Checking her receipt as she left a downtown Canadian Tire, Chris Colorado noticed a new charge.
Her $1.99 bottle of dish soap was accompanied by a 13-cent “eco fee.”
The levy for thousands of new products, from pharmaceuticals to fire extinguishers, quietly came into effect July 1, the same day as the harmonized sales tax.
But unlike that tax, provincial agencies have done little to publicize the new fees, catching consumers like
Colorado by surprise.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The global warming cult is desperate to trick you into agreeing with their carbon tax and credit system, and are bandying about news stories about "dangerous" heat waves. But as this article shows, the temperature sensors are being set up to create artificially high readings.

Meanwhile, the various climate organizations that investigated themselves after the climategate scandal (and who depend on global warming funding) have all declared themselves honorable people and denounced as crazy and uneducated anybody who thinks "hide the decline" actually meant "hide the decline!"

Mediaphobia at the IPCC

New York Times blogger Andrew Revkin had the scoop on Saturday—a letter that IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri recently sent to the 831 researchers who will contribute to the panel’s next assessment report, its fifth. In the letter, Pachauri tells scientists to "keep a distance" from reporters.

Climategate Investigations Are Arrogant Insults

There were two British investigations into the behavior of scientists at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia (UEA) exposed in leaked emails. Both reports provide no answers, no explanations and are only telling for what they did not ask or do and how they were manipulated. The blatant level of cover up is frightening. These are acts by people who believe they are unaccountable because they have carried out the greatest scam in history with impunity. The degree of cover up in both cases is an arrogant in-your-face statement that we are the power and are not answerable to anyone. Their cover up almost belittles the ones they are investigating.

Climategate Whitewash Complete: Third Inquiry Clears Everyone Involved

A third and final inquiry into the climategate scandal has exonerated everyone involved and declared that there is no question over the science behind manmade global warming – even though, like its predecessors, it has not investigated the science.
The so called “independent” inquiry into scientists at The University of East Anglia’s Climate research Unit found that “Their rigor and honesty as scientists are not in doubt”.
It further noted “We did not find any evidence of behavior that might undermine the conclusions of the IPCC.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Can we have the carbon tax now, can we? Huh? Can we?" -- Official White Horse Souse

The Climategate Whitewash Continues

Mr. Russell took pains to present his committee, which consisted of four other academics, as independent. He told the Times of London that "Given the nature of the allegations it is right that someone who has no links to either the university or the climate science community looks at the evidence and makes recommendations based on what they find."

Another Gigantic Undersea Volcano Found Off Coast of Indonesia

Now, this illustrates one of the problems with the global warming alarmists theories, because they claim to know for a certainty how much humans contribute to global warming.
But in order to have an accurate figure for the human contribution to the temperature of the oceans and atmosphere, you need to be able to subtract out all other factors.
So, how many active undersea volcanoes are there in the world?
Don't worry that you don't know; it is a trick question. Nobody has that answer, as today's story illustrates.
So, if the number of undersea volcanoes pouring heat into the oceans and from the oceans into the atmosphere are unknown, then it is impossible to estimate what the human contributions might be.

After two years of backroom lobbying of the Pride board of directors, their sponsors and city officials who make funding decisions for the festival, the organization succumbed to pressure and announced that it would censor the term "Israeli apartheid" from the parade.
In its May 28 editorial A case study in activism, the National Post hailed the decision as a landmark victory that would have “significant repercussions for the intellectual climate in this country.”
Less than a month later, Pride Toronto reversed its decision and allowed Queers Against Israeli Apartheid to march in the parade. As a result of the controversy, hundreds of people joined the group at Pride last weekend, forming the largest
Palestine solidarity contingent in the parade’s history.

Clinton vows support for Georgia, slams Russian 'occupation'

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reassured Georgia on Monday with a pledge of continued support and criticised Russia's "occupation" of two breakaway Georgian regions.

But we support Israels occupation of lands they were never supposed to have! We support severe military attacks on civilian populations in Gaza, that's perfectly ok, but Russia steps into Georgia and that's condemned! I've not enough criticism for Hillary Clinton... Growing Lobbying Battle Reported Over New START treaty

The Obama and Medvedev governments finalized the terms of the new START treaty, a key nuclear arms reduction pact, in late March, but the battle for the possible passage of the treaty through the US Senate is just now starting to pick up, with growing efforts to organize opposition to the reduction of America’s nuclear weapons arsenal.
The pact as finalized by the two governments would reduce both of their arsenals by roughly 30 percent, and leaves open the controversial US missile defense systems, allowing only non-binding signing statements from both sides on the matter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If passed by the Senate, such a treaty would go a long way toward reducing tensions between the US and Russia.
One has to wonder if those opposing this treaty have heavy investments in defense infrastructure companies; I would almost bet that might be the case.

Pipeline Geopolitics: The Russia German Nord Stream Strategic Gas Pipeline

South Stream gas pipeline will transport Russian gas to western Europe, bypassing Ukraine, where Washington in recent years has expended considerable effort to push the country into an anti-Russian pro-NATO position.
Completion of South Stream would weld a major geopolitical bond between the countries of the EU,
Central Europe and Russia, something that would represent for Washington a geopolitical nightmare. US policy since World War II has been to dominate western Europe first by fanning the Cold War with the Soviet Union, and after 1990, by extending NATO eastwards to the borders of Russia. An increasingly independent western Europe turning east rather than across the Atlantic, could spell a major defeat for continued US “sole Superpower” domination.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US has been (unsuccessfully to date)waging wars for its energy needs; Russia and China have been making deals to achieve the same outcome, and this approach has been successful for Russia.

Coast Guard dispatching ships and personnel to Costa Rica to threaten Nicaragua

(WMR) -- After conducting its successful coup d’etat in Honduras against President Manuel Zelaya, the imperialistic Barack Obama administration is now bent on ousting Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega by massing a huge U.S. Coast Guard and Marine Corps presence in neighboring Costa Rica, a base of operations for Reagan administration-backed CIA operations in the 1980s in support of the Nicaraguan contras.

Coast Guard dispatching ships and personnel to Costa Rica to threaten Nicaragua
By Wayne Madsen, July 8, 2010
"The official reason for Operation Joint Patrol is to combat drug trafficking but few in the Costa Rican opposition and in Nicaragua believe that to be the sole reason. The Joint Patrol operation is being likened to Plan
Colombia, which has targeted the governments of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa from Colombian territory."
"It is also believed by WMR’s sources in
Costa Rica that Costa Rican Vice President Lieberman, a noted Zionist, has arranged for Israeli special forces to enter Costa Rica in order to participate in operations directed against the government of Nicaragua."

Anger in Costa Rica Over Deal to ‘Invite’ 46 US Warships

Costa Rica’s opposition is expressing increasing opposition to the government’s agreement to allow the United States to send a significant force, 7,000 US Marines and 46 warships, into the tiny Central American nation.
Ostensibly the extension of a long-standing agreement to cooperate in the US war on drugs, the new version actually explicitly allows the US to send warships instead of Coast Guard ships and allows the troops to “carry out the activities it deems necessary” in the nation, basically giving the US military a blank check for all operations in Costa Rica.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This most likely has nothing to do with the US's wrong-headed and counterproductive "war on drugs", and everything to do with having a strike force "parked" in Central America, ready to wreak havoc on any Central or South American country which is not behaving in the way the US wishes.

There is No Plan For Permanently Housing the 1.9 Million Haitians Who Lost Their Homes in the Quake

Four new free enterprise zones have been created since the earthquake. Both Bill Clinton, who is the special envoy to Haiti from the U.N., and Hillary Clinton, of course in her role as Secretary of State, have said that the assembly industry is the linchpin of the reconstruction plan. And yet the sweat shop workers earn $3.09 a day, which is not a livable wage, work in often terrible conditions, and are forced to live in terrible conditions as well. Many of the people who died in the earthquake were sweatshop workers who could not afford better housing than temporary makeshift structures that were on top of each other, that were on the sides of hills, that were completely unstable, which is why up to 300,000 people died during this earthquake.

Six months on, Haiti earthquake victims wait for billions in aid

ActionAid declared on Friday that the country's reconstruction plans were flawed and in need of an urgent rethink. It was harshly critical of how even the rebuilding that was being undertaken did not take into account the needs of the earthquake victims.
"The rebuilding, overseen by a special commission led by Bill Clinton and Haitian prime minister Jean-Max Bellerive, reflects the wishes of donor countries – mainly the
US and the EU – rather than the needs of Haitians themselves."

Ancient Britons lived 800,000 years ago

Media Access Rules In Gulf Preventing Media From Covering Oil Spill

While I agree that there needs to be some reasonable rules that allow clean-up crews to do their job, cutting off press access completely it totally uncalled for and, to the extent that it’s a government action, it comes very close to being a violation of the First Amendment.

Gulf Coast now a BP police state as law enforcement conspires with BP to intimidate journalists

Why this matters
This is scary stuff, folks. Now we have a police state in
America. No one can deny it. You can't argue the point anymore. It is documented fact, and it's happening right now in the Gulf Coast.
If you pick up a professional camera and start snapping photos of a BP refinery, or a BP cleanup vessel, or a beach with an oil boom on it, you risk being followed, detained, questioned and intimidated. And if you don't surrender your own rights and consent to an illegal search of your photos or film footage, you will be hauled into a federal holding facility and held by the Department of Homeland Security until they feel like letting you go.

Ecological Holocaust and its Cover-up

HOLOCAUST
The term is accurate in this context.
Holocaust = murder on a mass scale.
Future videos will show exactly how appropriate this term is, but in short, not only has BP unleashed an uncontainable disaster of geologic proportions, it's also spraying tons of a highly toxic substance - coexit - at night, against the "request" of the EPA, not to contain the oil, but to mask the scale and scope of the disaster.
This is not only creating a ecological catastrophe of unprecedented proportions, it will sicken and kill thousands, possibly millions, of people, contaminate drinking water, and damage crops and agricultural land.
And make no mistake, this catastrophe is a major bonanza for the Oil Industrial Complex.

So What Are These Dispersants Made Of That Makes Them Such a Powerful Neurotoxin Pesticide?
The main ingredients of Corexit is 2-Butoxyethanol which can make up to 60% of the dispersant and is known to be toxic to blood, kidneys, liver, and the central nervous system (CNS).
2-Butoxyethanol is also known to cause cancer, birth defects and has been found to cause genetic mutations and is a delayed chronic health hazard as well as an environmental hazardous material
Corexit also contains Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury, and Cyanide.

1,2-Propanediol - The primary ingredient in aircraft anti-freeze and automotive anti-freeze. Used as the killing and preserving agent in pitfall traps, usually used to capture ground beetles. Mixing anti-freeze with heavy metals (iron, cobalt, copper, manganese, molybdenum, zinc, mercury, plutonium, lead, arsenic, aluminium, mercury, cadmium... see list of ingredients spewed by the volcanic oil gusher) makes it very toxic. Precisely why is it this unit that the

Residents outraged: BP dumping oily waste in Gulf landfills

The Gulf area may have to live with oil long after the beaches have been cleaned. Some residents are outraged that BP has been dumping oily waste in landfills in their areas.
After BP crews scoop up the oil off Gulf beaches, the waste is transported to
Mississippi's Pecan Grove landfill. Even workers' protective suits, gloves, shovels, rakes and anything else that touches oil is buried there.
The Board of Supervisors in
Harrison, Mississippi passed a resolution saying they don't want any BP waste in their community but there is little they can do. BP has cut deals with Waste Management, the owners of the landfill. They answer to the state instead of local county government.

*Lulu Maxwell, 17, Grade 12, Rosedale Heights: Maxwell and a friend were hanging around near Queen and Dufferin Sts. at a convergence centre for protesters on Sunday afternoon when police started making arrests. “My friend was blowing bubbles and I was scribbling peace signs on the sidewalk.” Within minutes, her friend was grabbed and Lulu was put up against a wall. Her backpack was searched and Lulu says an officer said she could be charged with possession of dangerous weapons “because I had eyewash solution in my backpack.” She was taken to the detention centre and almost 12 hours after her arrest was allowed to call her parents. She was released, without charges being laid, at 5 a. m. *Erin Boynton, 24, London, Ont. She was arrested at The Esplanade early Sunday morning after police boxed dozens of protesters in. “I was with a protest marching peacefully down Yonge from Dundas Square,” she said. “When the cops came at us, many people scattered and those who were left in front of the (Novotel) got arrested.” She said police came from all sides and “squished us in. They didn’t give us a warning to leave…. just announced that we are arresting all of you.” She said a lot of people at the detention centre were innocent bystanders. “The police violated all our rights . . . there was police brutality. Quite frankly, it was quite disgusting.” Boynton wasn’t charged.

BP Whistleblower: 'What This Company Is Doing To This Country Right Now Is Just Wrong'

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember that all that BP has done to the United States was done with the permission of the US Federal Government. The MMS, which is supposed to keep an eye on the oil corporations in this country, was known to suffer from rampant corruption and incompetence when Obama took office. Obama had 400 days to get the Federal Agencies like MMS (and SEC) back to doing their jobs. Instead, we learned that MMS had come to believe they worked for the oil companies rather than for the American people, and in the months before the Deepwater Horizon explosion, occupied themselves with internet porn, drugs, and hookers provided by the very oil companies they were supposed to be keeping an eye on.

Yes, BP deserves everything it gets, but it should not stand alone on the gallows.

BP's paid less than half of claims

Since the Deepwater Horizon well exploded April 20, BP has paid fewer than half of the claims filed in six states, including Mississippi.

Former Contractor: BP Not Interested In Cleaning Up Oil Spill

As we have highlighted, as one of the founding members of the cap and trade lobby, BP stands to reap a financial bounty if the Obama administration succeeds in exploiting the worsening oil spill crisis to push through a carbon tax.

If Explosives Are Used to Seal the Leaking Oil Gusher, Extreme Caution Should Be Used to Prevent Landslides

I have previously argued that "the odds that the release of methane from the leaking oil will cause a tidal wave or a firestorm are infinitesimally small."
I am sticking by that assessment.
But Reuters notes that the use of explosives to seal the oil gusher could cause a landslide:
“I think this situation has taught us from the start to have a backup,” retired U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, the top official overseeing the spill response, told reporters this week. …
If both relief wells fail, Allen said BP has a plan to fabricate a new pipeline, place it on the seabed and hook it up to the leaking wellhead. …

BP Gulf Oil Gusher: Methane, Climate & Dead Zones

As much as one million times the normal level of methane is showing up near the Gulf of Mexico oil gusher, enough potentially to create dead zones in the water. "These are higher levels than we have ever seen at any other location in the ocean itself," according to sources cited by Reuters. The "flow team" of the US Geological Survey estimates that 2,900 cubic feet of natural gas, which primarily contains methane, is being released into the Gulf waters with every barrel of oil.

Key BP Oil Well Test Delayed - US Official

The start of BP PLC's (BP) crucial integrity test of the leaking Gulf of Mexico oil well has been delayed until at least Wednesday, the U.S. official leading the disaster response said.
Adm. Thad Allen, the former U.S. Coast Guard chief, said he had taken the decision to delay the test after meetings with Energy Secretary Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist, and other top experts.

Oil-Stopping Island Crumbles Into the Gulf: Big Pics

BP claims ‘Top Hat 10? could completely stop oil gusher

Hours after BP fitted a new containment cap to a damaged well at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, the gushing oil and gas appeared to completely stop, according to images relayed from a live video from the sea floor. Oil was once again jetting from the well a moment later as the company continued testing pressure seals on the "Top Hat 10" cap.
BP representatives said it would take between six and 48 hours to determine if the new well cap will work. The company has said the cap could effectively contain the massive spill, which has only been growing since the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform exploded and sank on April 22

Commander: “Could make the case that there’s some structural integrity issues with the casing of the wellbore”

Press Conference, National Incident Commander Thad Allen, July 13, 2010:
Nearly all questions at National Incident Commander Thad Allen’s press conference today concerned the structural integrity of the well and the possibility of seepage into the seabed or a blowout.
Commander: “One could make the case that there’s some structural integrity issues with the casing of the wellbore itself.”

BP Committing Ecocide on Islands in Gulf

BP has hired an army of contractors and sub-contractors who are spending plenty of "flash money" to assuage some local businesses. However, WMR noticed while driving to Louisiana a large number of seafood distributors and restaurants that were shuttered.
Those hired by BP to clean up beaches and waters are not permitted to wear respirators and many are becoming sick, even coughing up blood. This editor, while driving to Venice, began to experience burning and watering eyes, a condition that lasted hours after returning to the west bank of New Orleans.

Oil Expert: “Real concerned about shut-in integrity test” by BP “because of the down hole damage” that “could cause it to blowout”

Oil and gas industry expert Bob Cavnar:
I’m real concerned about this shut in integrity test they’re going to plan in the morning, because of the down hole damage that we’ve talked about for the last several weeks, plus there are some components in that blowout preventer stack, the flex joint below this new assembly that doesn’t rate the pressure I’m worried about it’s going to take to shut it in.

Security contractor: BP fired me for taking photos of dispersants

A security contractor who was once responsible for keeping reporters away from cleanup workers is now coming forward to blow the whistle on BP.
Adam Dillon claims he was fired by the oil company after he took pictures showing how dispersants were being used in the Gulf.

Discovery of second pipe in Deepwater Horizon riser stirs debate among experts

While Allen said he believes the second pipe fell from above, some experts have advanced another explanation. They believe poorly cemented casings -- tubes that are supposed to form solid walls down thousands of feet of the well bore -- may have been dislodged by the blast of natural gas that shot up out of the well and above the sea floor.
If that's what happened, the piece of pipe would have gone into the blowout preventer, the 450-ton tower of valves and pistons that sits on top of the well head and is supposed to shut off the well in an emergency. The Deepwater Horizon's blowout preventer failed to cut through the pipe that ran through it, and subsequent efforts to shut the so-called shear rams using remote-control submarine robots also failed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This second drill pipe was being discussed here on the blogs more than a week ago, but was only officially acknowledged Friday.

Oil flows freely into Gulf after BP removes cap

Move is first step in placing a tighter dome over leak; if all goes according to plan, the gushing oil could be sealed as soon as Monday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I hate to be such a cynic, but especially after Saddam's "nooks" I smell a huge rat here.

Take a look at the live cams right now, supposedly working on the uncapped well. (Warning, this link sometimes crashes Firefox).
Now, take a look at still framecaps from the well only a couple weeks ago when the cap was still in place.

The live cams, with the cap supposedly removed today, do not seem to show anywhere near as much oil coming out of the pipe.

How can we know we are in fact looking at the actual well head and not a staged recreation for propaganda purposes, especially with famed film maker James Cameron having been on scene for many weeks now.
Yes, this idea is a little out there, but decoys for military purposes are big business in the
US; it is hardly a novelty to the government point of view.
Ask yourself if BP would fake a well capping to contain the bad publicity and save their stock price.
Ask yourself if Obama would fake a well capping to avoid having the disaster as an issue come November?
Second issue. We know from the failure of the first Top Kill procedure, as well as from the seepage coming from the ocean floor around the well head, that there has been a subsurface blowout about 1000 feet down where a piece of safety gear was damaged by the drilling process. BP calls it a malfunctioning disk.
So, there are at least two vents in the pipe system, one at the well head and another 1000 feet down. Capping the well head makes absolutely no sense at all other than a public relations stunt because the oil and methane will continue to escape from the subsurface blowout lower down. Indeed, the pressure and flow of the leakage into the formation will increase with the capping of the well head, hastening the moment then the subsurface blowout breaches the ocean floor and sends the accumulated oil and gas from the last 80 days to the surface in a single giant blowout.
If this is the real well head and not a fake created for public relations purposes, this is a dangerous and reckless thing to do for the sake of an election-saving headline.

Russian sub 'could stop oil leak'

Russian-owned submersibles would be able to cap the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, the captain of one of the vessels has said.
The skipper was speaking as two of the subs - which can dive to 6,000m - started a campaign of exploration at the bottom of
Lake Baikal in Siberia.
He added that there was still time for the subs to help BP with the disaster.

Canada may sue BP over oil spill

The Canadian government is considering a lawsuit against oil giant BP for environmental damage caused by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
P.E.I. fishermen were briefed about the potential move at a meeting with Department of Fisheries and Oceans officials Friday in Stanhope.
The meeting was called to plan for
Canada's share of bluefin tuna stocks in the future, but fisheries scientists are also looking for signs of damage to North Atlantic tuna populations.

Massive amounts of tarballs are now hammering the Atlantic Coast of Florida and have left a large portion of
Cocoa Beach in Central Florida literally covered in tarballs.
Meanwhile local Government officials have taken a move straight from the
Pensacola Beach playbook and are already misleading the public into thinking that the beaches are safe.
Mellisa Cones, director of the the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce, attempts to assure the public that the tarballs are not from the BP Gulf Oil Spill by saying “it’s just to thick to be coming from the west coast”.

Officials say BP spill now hitting all Gulf states

Tar balls from the Gulf oil spill found on a Texas beach were confirmed Monday as the first evidence that gushing crude from the Deepwater Horizon well has reached all the Gulf states.

Oil Water Samples From Gulf - Very Toxic

Hundreds Of Fishermen Missing Checks From BP

Hundreds of fishermen from Lake Charles to Moss Point, Miss., were supposed to get checks from BP on Wednesday but didn't.
Wednesday night, their lawyer wanted answers.
Jeffrey Briet represents more than 500 fishermen, and he said the payment system he set up with BP required his clients to be paid every 30 days. Now that process has suddenly changed without warning, Briet said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wouldn't bet on these people ever seeing a check from BP for their work.

A Whale to the rescue: Can super-skimmer turn tide of Gulf oil spill?

To date, skimmers in the Gulf have collected 671,000 barrels (28.2 million gallons) of oil and water mix from the Gulf.
The A Whale, for its part, could collect more than 125 times the amount of the largest skimmer currently working the Gulf. It's capable of slurping up 300,000 barrels of oil (21 million gallons) of oil in 10 hours, and offloading it to a companion vessel, A Elephant. Mr. Su is already readying two other retrofitted tankers, the B Whale and C Whale, for service in the Gulf.

Oil skimmer's test results 'inconclusive' due to rough seas

Tests of the effectiveness of the A Whale oil skimmer in the Gulf of Mexico are inconclusive, a spokesman for the company that owns the huge converted cargo ship said Monday.
Bob Grantham of TMT Shipping Offshore said rough seas over the initial 48-hour testing period made it difficult to determine the skimming results, but he expects more typical sea conditions over coming days will allow more testing.

More bad news for BP as arsenic levels rise in seawater around the Gulf of Mexico

BELEAGUERED energy giant BP was hit with further bad news this morning as it emerged dangerous arsenic levels have been found in seawater around the Gulf of Mexico.
British scientists warned that the oil spill is increasing the level of arsenic in the ocean, and could further add to the devastating impact on the already sensitive environment.

Gulf awash in 27,000 abandoned wells — and no one at all is checking to see if they are leaking

More than 27,000 abandoned oil and gas wells lurk in the hard rock beneath the Gulf of Mexico, an environmental minefield that has been ignored for decades. No one — not industry, not government — is checking to see if they are leaking, an Associated Press investigation shows.

Webmaster's Commentary:

BP Used Oil Industry Tax Break to Write Off Its Rent for Deepwater Rig

Transocean, the company that owns the failed Deepwater Horizon rig that caused the Gulf oil spill, used well-known tax havens in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland to lower its U.S. corporate tax rate by almost 15 points. And due to a break in the U.S. tax code, BP was also allowed to write off the rent it paid to Transocean on its own tax bill, saving it hundreds of thousands of dollars per day:

BP Collapse Potentially More Devastating than Lehman!

As horrific as the gulf environmental catastrophe is, an even more intractable and cataclysmic disaster may be looming. The yet unknowable costs associated with clean-up, litigation and compensation damages due to arguably the world’s worst environmental tragedy, may be in the process of triggering a credit event by British Petroleum (BP) that will be equally devastating to global over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. The potential contagion may eventually show that Lehman Bros. and Bear Stearns were simply early warning signals of the devastation lurking and continuing to grow unchecked in the $615T OTC Derivatives market.

BP boss in UAE amid speculation

But Haywayd's visit comes amid reports that BP had been seeking the support of foreign sovereign wealth funds (SWF) following the collapse of its share price which increased the risk of possible takeover bids by rival companies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In other words, BP will borrow itself to the hilt to clean up the mess they made (and MMS let them) and you will spend the rest of your life paying high gas prices to repay the loans. I gu7ess from BP's point of view that's a better deal than digging into their executive bonuses!

Whistleblower: Relief payments get slashed if fishermen refuse to work for BP

Any relief payment plan established in the wake of the worst environmental accident ever was bound to have its flaws, but this goes to a whole new level of wrong.
According to Gulf resident Kindra Arnesen, who turned whistleblower and full-time activist when she saw how many people were put out of work by the spill, BP will deduct money from individual payments on claims for lost income if the claimant refuses to work in assisting the spill response.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unflipping believable.

On August 27, 2009, Arlen Specter wrote to Rebecca Schmidt asking that the NRC "issue a formal public statement confirming that he [constituent Zalman Shapiro] was not involved in any activities related to the diversion of uranium to Israel."
A March, 2010 audit by two former NRC officials published in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists confirmed not only that 337 kilograms of NUMEC highly enriched uranium are still unaccounted for but that all circumstantial evidence still points to diversion to
Israel.

Gulf spill 'bigger and uglier than we had hoped'

"The distribution of the oil, it's bigger and uglier than we had hoped," said Roger Helm, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official and the lead scientist studying the spill for the Interior Department. "The possibility of having significant changes in the food chain, over some period of time, is very real. The possibility of marshes disappearing . . . is very real."

BP admits failing to use industry risk test at any of its deepwater wells in the US

BP was facing fresh criticism over its approach to safety on Saturday night after critics said it did not use an industry standard process to asses risk ahead of the Deepwater Horizon disaster.
The procedure, known as a safety case, was developed in
Britain after the catastrophic Piper Alpha oil rig explosion of 1988 in which 167 people lost their lives.
However, BP admitted to The Sunday Telegraph that it does not use safety cases on any of its
US wells, including the high-pressure deep water Macondo well from which up to 60,000 barrels of oil per day are still leaking in the Gulf of Mexico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unflipping believable! And only now, the US is considering the adopting of such a procedure for offshore oil drilling?!?!?

BP, cops detain reporter for taking pictures of oil refinery

According to Rosenfield, the officers said they had a right to look at photos taken near secured areas of the refinery, even if they were shot from public property. Rosenfield said he was told he would be "taken in" if he declined to comply. Michael Marr, a BP spokesman, released a statement explaining the company's actions:
Paul Steiger, editor-in-chief of ProPublica, said: "We certainly appreciate the need to secure the nation's refineries. But we're deeply troubled by BP's conduct here, especially when they knew we were working on deadline on critical stories about this very facility. And we see no reason why, if law enforcement needed to review the unpublished photographs, that should have included sharing them with a representative of a private company."

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder what BP was so terrified these pictures would document.
It appears that publicly paid law enforcement officials have now become the enforcement arm of private corporations. This means that a true dictatorship has arrived in this country without any President ever having to declare martial law.

Can it rain oily compounds in the Gulf of Mexico? Yes! Chris Landau geologist & meteorologist

Do not let your kids eat the hail or drink the rainwater. It is likely to contain some benzene and cyclohexane. Can it rain oily compounds? The short answer is it certainly can. It is also not complex to work out which chemical compounds will be coming down in our rainwater. It is those with a similar boiling point and freezing point to water. It is those that are not too heavy, that are similar to that of air at 1.2 kg per cubic meter. They should be able to rise easily to upper atmospheric levels.
Let us start with water. On earth at everyday working temperatures matter has 3 phases. They are solid, liquid and gas. We know these phases by other names called ice, water and steam.
